Get to Know Howard Wright

What is your current position, and what are your main responsibilities? 

Manage the day-to-day operations of the company, recruiting and on boarding new clients, ensuring technology and applications are up to date with the field.

Where are you from?   Brockton

What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of work? 

Visiting micro breweries, traveling and fine dining

Can you share a bit about your career path leading up to your current role? 

I went back to college as an adult student after working blue collar jobs. Graduated (with honors ) with a degree in economics but discovered an affinity for technology and pursued those interests, first as a line employee, then a Director of Technology at a large non-profit. And eventually, starting my own IT company.

What accomplishments are you most proud of in your career? 

Building my company from the ground up. Staying with just myself and now employing 9 people

Do you have any unique skills or talents? 

I have an insatiable curiosity and if I don't understand something, I won't stop until I figure it out

What’s something surprising about you that others might not know? 

That I didn't get my bachelor's degree until I was in my 30s and I was a hockey referee for over 20 years.

What advice would you give to someone starting their career in this field? 

Research, don't give up, the answer is there, you just have to find it and follow your dreams and your heart

Who has been a mentor or influence in your career, and why? 

I have been fortunate to have so many mentors and positive influences in my life from supervisors who stepped in to help me overcome difficulties in my personal life.  Bill Holloway was my mentor during the 20 plus years we worked together,  to a friend that became my controller and one of my biggest supporters and cheerleaders both professionally and personally.
